LISA ANNE PROSKIN, ESQ.
Lisa Proskin was born and raised in Colonie, New York. After
leaving the area to continue her schooling, she ultimately
returned to the area to raise her family. She joined The
Proskin Law Firm in 1995, after clerking for the New York
State Appellate Division (Third Department) for a year.
Prior to that, she was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in
Delaware County, Ohio. Ms. Proskin also clerked for
Thompson, Hine & Flury in Columbus, Ohio and The New York
County District Attorney’s Office while a law student.
Ms. Proskin provides a hands-on approach to the practice of
law. Whether working on criminal matters, personal injury,
real estate or contracts, she is likely to be meeting with
clients and walking them through the process. She engages in
the general practice of law, including, but not limited to,
criminal matters, traffic law, personal injury, wills and
estates, real estate and business law. Ms. Proskin also
serves as the Acting Village Justice in Menands. She also serves as a
Court Evaluator and Court Appointed Attorney in Article 81
and Surrogate Court matters.
Ms. Proskin graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Political
Science from the Johns Hopkins University in 1989. She
continues to conduct interviews for the Admissions Department
and remains a supporter of the University. Following
graduation from Hopkins, Lisa attended The Ohio State
University School of Law from where she received a Juris
Doctor with Honors in 1992. She remains an avid Buckeye fan.
Ms. Proskin is a member of many local and state Bar
Associations and has held leadership roles in the Capital
District Women’s Bar Association and the Women’s Bar
Association of the State of New York. She has served as
Chairman of the Colonie Chamber of Commerce and remains
active in school and community affairs. She has served as
PTA President, a girl scout leader and in various positions
and committees
within the school system. A breast cancer survivor, Ms. Proskin
is also Vice President of To Life!, a
breast cancer education and support organization. She has
also served as the President of the Greater Capital Region
Business and Professional Women’s Association. Lisa also
serves as President of the House Corporation Board of the
Alpha Phi Fraternity at RPI and was a member of the National
House Corporation Board for Alpha Phi from 2007-2009.
Lisa and her husband, Jonathan Pierce reside in Menands with
their three children, Hannah, Daniel and Rachel and their
dachshund Red.

JEFFRY HINES, ESQ.
Jeffry Hines joined The Proskin Law Firm in 2003 after working
with another local law firm for three years. Prior to joining
the firm, Mr. Hines was Captain of the Bureau of Criminal
Investigation in the New York State Police. In 1997, Mr. Hines
retired from the New York State Police following a distinguished
twenty year career.
His practice area concentrates in trust and estate law, elder
law, and Medicaid planning. Mr. Hines also engages in the
general practice of law, including, but not limited to,
landlord/tenant law, business corporation law, criminal law, and
vehicle and traffic law. He frequently appears in the various
Surrogates’ Courts throughout the Capital District area
regarding matters including, but not limited to, probate and
administrative proceedings, wrongful death petitions, settlement
conferences and as a Court Appointed Attorney in various
Surrogate’s Court matters. He also provides the firm with
additional expertise in estate and tax planning. Mr. Hines
authored "Telemarketing Fraud Upon the Elderly: Minimizing its
Effects Through Legislation, Law Enforcement & Education," 12
Albany Law Journal of Science & Technology 839 (2002).
Mr. Hines graduated cum laude from Slippery Rock State
University in 1976 with a B.A. in Health and Physical Education.
He received his masters in Criminal Justice from Rockefeller
College of Public Affairs and Policy in 1986 and received his
J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University in 2000.
Mr. Hines was admitted to the New York State Bar and the United
State District Court – Northern District of New York in 2001.
His professional affiliations include the following
organizations: NYS Association of Chiefs of Police,
Northeastern Association of Chiefs of Police, SUNY – Albany
School of Criminal Justice Alumni Association, Slippery Rock
State University Alumni Association, SUNY - Albany Alumni
Association, American and New York State Bar Associations,
Albany County Bar Association, Rensselaer County Bar
Association, Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York –
Capital District Chapter, and The Estate Planning Council of
Eastern New York, Inc.
Mr. Hines is a Charter Member of the East Greenbush YMCA and a
member of the Troy Lodge of Elks - #141 for in excess of
twenty-five years. He is a physical fitness enthusiast, enjoys
mid and long distance running and conditioning and enjoys
skiing, golf, baseball, football, basketball, and hockey.

MARC GREENWALD, ESQ.
Marc Greenwald provides more than 20 years managerial and
strategic planning business experience and seven years
litigation and transactional legal experience to The Proskin Law
Firm clients.
His business experience includes serving as a Division Strategic
Manager and Manager of Military Business Development for a
Fortune 100 company. Marc provides expert assistance with
businesses in the areas of strategic planning, investment, real
estate, insurance, and corporate governance.
Marc concentrates his practice within the following areas of
law:

• Matrimonial/Family Issues;
• DWI/traffic violations;
• Corporate Governance/Strategic Planning;
Admitted in the New York State Bar and the U.S. District Court,
Northern District of New York, Marc serves in Saratoga County
Family Court as an Attorney for the Child (Law Guardian) and has
counseled corporate c-level executives concerning strategic
financial planning, employee relations and legislative direction
while earning a Masters of Business Administration. Experienced
with contact negotiations as a business and legal professional,
Marc thoroughly explains to clients the benefits, legal tasks,
consequences, alternatives and responsibilities of actions they
have taken, are taking and those they should contemplate.
Published in Who’s Who in the East (1986), Marc’s combined
thirty years experience provides him the ability to act upon,
advice and follow-through with crisis management, negotiation,
organization, and prioritization blended with his diverse and
extensive experience. This insightful background provides unique
depth that compliments a natural ability of collecting salient
points without dismissing or denigrating issues that may play a
lesser role with the client’s matter at hand.
Marc received his B.A. from the State University of New York –
Plattsburgh where he majored in English while competing in
Varsity level Soccer and Track and Field which led to his
participation as a field manager during the staging and practice
sessions of the 1976 United States Olympic Track and Field Team.
Marc received his Masters of Business Administration from the
University at Albany and his J.D. from Albany Law School of
Union University where he was an Octofinalist in the Gabrielli
Appellate Moot Court Competition, a Rendigs National Appellate
Product Liability Moot Court Competition participant and a
Contributing Editor with Environmental Outlook (Journal).
Marc has traveled throughout the world, is a former adjunct
faculty member at Siena College in the School of Marketing and
Management in Loudonville, New York where he provided real-world
change-management techniques, theoretical concepts underlying
organizational change and analytical/conceptual skills in a
required course for Marketing and Management Business majors.
Marc is a member of the Leadership Council for the American
Diabetes Association. He volunteers for the Albany Law School
Moot Court competitions and is a member of the Saratoga
Performing Arts Center and the New York State and Saratoga
County Bar Associations.

SALVATORE J. RICO, ESQ.
Sal Rico has worked with The Proskin Law Firm since 1990 in a
variety of capacities. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rico was
self-employed in a general legal practice.
Mr. Rico brings a wealth of experience to the firm through his
extensive local and statewide experience. For 30 years, Mr. Rico
was Counsel to the New York State Legislative Bill Drafting
Commission, serving as Commissioner from 1987 to 1997. As
Counsel, he was charged with the drafting of legislation on
behalf of the Legislative leadership, fiscal committee and the
Executive Division. As Commissioner, his responsibilities also
included the management of 225 employees.
Mr. Rico has served in Albany County Legislature and was a
part-time District Tax Attorney in the New York State Department
of Taxation and Finance. Since 1998 his experience has centered
in the area of Real Property practice.
He is a 1962 graduate of Villanova University and received his
J.D. from The Villanova University School of Law in 1965.
